You submitted the following rating and review. Seahorses and minnows whispered to him the secrets of high finance, and when baby Dante crawled ashore, the sea foam around him turned into euros and platinum credit cards. He does pay a little more attention when she turns up again, this time in the shrubbery outside his palatial Lake Como residence, because she has brought with her two paparazzi, to act as witnesses to her accusations. Alicia is tiny and cute and shiny, like the little fishes he played with as a baby sea billionaire, so Dante wants her.
But she is also running a transparently elaborate scam to steal all his money with this nonsense of expensive pre-natal care, so he is furious.
He will maintain that fury, on and off, for the next odd pages. Paolo is totally ready to accept responsibility for the baby and the expensive pre-natal care. Alicia begrudgingly apologises to Dante, and then apologises for her apology because it was pretty crap. Melinda had a full-time job. Alicia is a nurse, returning from a stint working in an African danger zone.
Dante is furious about this too, but this is jealousy because her game is heaps more implausible and makes her look so much better than his does. Alicia talks a pretty good line of her own. They have something in common! Alicia is outraged, because of carbon footprint, and when Dante refuses to not use the plane, Alicia tells him that he sickens her. But my favourite thing Dante says occurs towards the end of the book. They are both dramatically scarred by their previous nookie misadventures. This book was so much fun. Dec 30, sbf rated it really liked it.
This one was decent -- the first half was pretty good. But I didn't think the hero did enough groveling given how terribly he'd treated the heroine. And I never like it when it takes him until the very end of the story to figure out that he's in love. But still, a decent read. The "hero" was a a big jerk until almost the very end of this book. Kind of confusing at some point, but still I enjoyed it.

Dante is one bitter guy and Alicia is slightly bitter one. He needs the cheerful type to be honest. But I enjoy the angst and the lemon scene.

Fue conmovedora, pero le falta. Si trovano delle piccole perle, tra queste pubblicazioni, ma bisogna scavare. Aug 11, Titania Remakes the World rated it it was amazing. I really enjoyed this one. Lots of him talking "smack", but his body language and actions were totally betraying him as falling for her--totally against his will, but he keeps screwing things up for the both of them. I loved the female character, she was complex, had PTSD after being traumatized doing healthcare work in Africa and seeing all the horror and getting shot.
She analyzed him correctly as being too damaged to deal with, however much she loved him, I really enjoyed this one. She analyzed him correctly as being too damaged to deal with, however much she loved him, and she did the right thing and LEFT!! I'm rereading as we speak, and I'll be looking for more from this author!! I did not like Dante at all. I thought he was a horrible person and a user. It didn't matter what other people said, what he thought was always right and that is all he cared about. I got to about chapter three and started skimming through the story just to get it finished.
I will not be reading it again. I will not even keep the book. She takes paparazzi to his Lake Cuomo house to confront him because she needs money for her sister who was in an accident. She was a nurse in Africa where she was shot. She went there to escape having affair with man who turned out was married. Started out good and then got boring and the reveal of affair with married man killed it.
When Alicia turns up at Dante D'Aquanni's Italian villa claiming he's responsible for her sister's pregnancy, She wrongly accuses him of fathering her sisters baby.
But despite the sizzling chemistry between them, Alicia knows she must leave--because she's falling for a man who despises her.. Aug 21, Kelly rated it it was ok Shelves: Yep, I read this. Dramatic misunderstanding romance novel that would have no plot if the characters took five minutes in the first five pages to explain to each other what had actually happened. I love that stuff. All the best trashy stuff is based on dramatic yet easily explained misunderstandings. View all 3 comments.
Jul 11, seton marked it as to-read Shelves: Jan 15, Nadia rated it it was amazing Shelves: I really liked this one even though hero was a bit of a douchebag or at least was pretending very hard that he is one. But I liked both of them and hero and heroine and that was nice that they both got their scars physical and psychological. Apr 08, Suzanne rated it it was amazing.
